CAFOD Whole-School Visit
Our whole school recently welcomed a representative from the Catholic Agency for Overseas Development (CAFOD) for an inspiring and eye-opening assembly. The session focused on the importance of supporting people around the world who are living in conflict, crisis, or extreme poverty. Pupils learned how CAFOD’s World Gifts provide life-changing support for families and communities facing difficult and often unimaginable circumstances.
The visit helped our children reflect deeply on their responsibility, as young Catholics, to follow in Jesus’ footsteps by showing compassion, generosity, and solidarity with those in need. The message resonated strongly across the school:
“I learned that people have so little compared to us and we are so lucky to be able to give to people who have needs.” – One pupil in Year 5
“I think some of the gifts are very, very important because they can help people survive.” – another pupil in Year 4
This invaluable experience strengthened our commitment to living out our mission of faith in action and encouraged pupils to consider how their own choices can make a real difference to others around the world.
