At St Mary’s Catholic Primary School, we believe that learning about other world faiths helps our children to grow in respect, understanding and compassion for others. Rooted in our Catholic values, pupils learn about a range of religions and cultures, including Judaism, Islam, Hinduism and Sikhism, helping them to appreciate the diversity of the world around them. Through engaging lessons, discussions, stories, artefacts and celebrations, children are encouraged to recognise both the differences and shared values between faiths, such as kindness, peace, community and love. We aim to develop pupils who are curious, respectful and open-hearted, preparing them to live positively in our diverse society whilst remaining secure in their own faith and identity.
