Women's Homeless Shelter
Harvest of Hope – Supporting Our Local Community 🍂
As part of our Harvest celebrations this year, we are delighted to launch a new community initiative at St Mary’s, supporting the Winter Women’s Shelter based at Holy Trinity Catholic Church.
Inspired by our Catholic values of love, service and community, we are encouraging our children and families to put their faith into action by donating essential food items to support vulnerable women in our local community.
Harvest is a special time to reflect on the gifts God has given us and to recognise our responsibility to share with those less fortunate. Through this initiative, we hope to nurture our pupils’ understanding of Catholic Social Teaching, particularly the importance of human dignity, compassion and the common good.
Families are warmly invited to donate items including tinned foods, pasta, rice, olive oil and herbal teas, which can be dropped off at the school office between 9:30am and 3:00pm, Monday to Friday.
Together, even the smallest acts of kindness can make a meaningful difference. Thank you to our wonderful St Mary’s community for helping us live out our mission of faith in action!
