Welcome to Year 4!

In Year 4, children enjoy a broad and balanced curriculum. We usually focus on core subjects in the mornings, while afternoons are filled with exciting foundation subjects. Over the year, children will also take part in specialist lessons in Music, PE, Drama, Dance, Spanish, and Drumming – providing lots of opportunities to discover and develop their talents.

Our classroom is a welcoming place where children are encouraged to share ideas, learn from each other, and grow in confidence. We place a strong emphasis on teamwork, communication, and independence, helping children to become resilient and resourceful learners.

Key Information for Year 4

• PE Day: Friday (please ensure children have their PE kit in school).
• Homework & Reading Books: Due in on Fridays.

Multiplication Tables Check

In June 2026, all Year 4 children will take part in the Statutory Multiplication Tables Check. This short online test consists of 25 multiplication questions, with 6 seconds allowed for each answer. It simply helps us see how children are getting on with their times tables.

Throughout the year, we will give children plenty of practice and support so they feel confident and ready by the summer. An information guide for parents is attached below.
