Pilgrims of Hope
Pope Francis has decreed that 2025 will be a year of Jubilee, a holy year which happens every 25 years in the Catholic Church.
Join St Mary's School for the Pilgrims of Hope! 🌟
As we look towards the Jubilee Year 2025, St Mary's School is excited to announce our participation in the Pilgrims of Hope. Under the guidance of Pope Francis, we are called to unite as a Catholic community to respond to some of the most pressing challenges facing our world today. ✝️❤️
This is a heartfelt invitation to all our students, parents, and friends to join us in this meaningful journey. Together, we will strive to aid the poorest in society, support those caught in the struggles of warfare, and care for our beautiful common home. 🌍💚
Let’s come together in hope and action, spreading kindness and making a positive impact in our communities and beyond. Your support and involvement can make a significant difference!

💚 Own Clothes Day – Wearing Green for Hope 💚
Our whole school came together in a sea of green as we marked the launch of the Jubilee Year of Hope.
Green is the symbol of peace, renewal and hope, and our children wore it proudly as we reflected on Pope Francis’ call to spread kindness and compassion.
At St Mary’s, we continue to walk this journey of hope together — growing in faith, nurturing one another, and shining God’s light in our community. 🌿✨

🌟 Year of Hope Half-Term Projects 🌟
Our children returned from the break with the most brilliant and creative artwork, all inspired by the Jubilee Year of Hope.
From thoughtful symbols to vibrant expressions of faith, their projects show how deeply they are engaging with this special year of renewal, kindness and hope.
We are so proud of their imagination, effort and joy in sharing what hope means to them. 💚✨

Year 6's Door of Hope: A Symbol of Compassion 🌟🚪
Our inspiring Year 6 students came together to create a beautiful makeshift Door of Hope in honour of Pope Francis' pledge, "Behind every door, there is someone we can help." 🕊️❤️
Each student decorated their door with messages of kindness and hope, reminding us all of the power of community and compassion. This Jubilee Year of Hope challenges us to reach out and support those in need, fostering a spirit of unity within our school and beyond.

Door of Hope Exhibition
Our school hall was transformed into a beautiful celebration of the Jubilee Year of Hope. Our children proudly showcased their thoughtful and creative work, reflecting on what hope means in their lives, in our school and in our world.
Rooted in our Catholic mission and Catholic Social Teaching, the exhibition reminds us that hope calls us to look forward with faith, act with compassion, and work together for a brighter future.
We are so proud of the care, imagination and spirituality shown in every piece. 🌟

CAFOD Workshops
This week, CAFOD led powerful workshops with our Key Stage 2 pupils, inspiring us to live out our mission as Pilgrims of Hope during this special Jubilee Year. Through reflection, discussion and prayer, the children explored how they can bring hope to others in their daily lives. A heartfelt thank you to CAFOD for helping us deepen our understanding of global solidarity and faith in action. 🌍✨
