High-quality teaching is fundamental to our approach.

Lessons build carefully upon prior learning and teachers make explicit connections between what children already know and new knowledge. Subject-specific vocabulary is introduced, modelled and revisited so that children become increasingly confident in articulating their religious understanding.

At St Mary’s, teaching includes opportunities for:

• applying learning to pupils' own lives.

Teachers adapt learning appropriately so that all pupils, including pupils with SEND and those learning English as an additional language, experience an ambitious Religious Education curriculum and are supported to achieve well.
