Assessment in Religious Education
Assessment is an integral part of teaching and learning in Religious Education.
Teachers assess pupils against the expected outcomes of the Religious Education Directory, considering both the knowledge pupils acquire through the knowledge lenses and their development through the ways of knowing.
Assessment takes place through children's written and creative work, discussion, questioning, pupil voice, retrieval activities and teachers' observations.
Leaders regularly monitor Religious Education through:
- lesson visits
- work scrutiny
- pupil voice
- assessment information
- planning reviews
- moderation
- learning walks
This enables us to evaluate both pupils' progress and the effectiveness of our curriculum and identify priorities for continued improvement.
